​Start & Finish: Trieste, Italy, an easy 3 hour train ride from Venice.
​Included: Transportation, 8 nights in 3 – 4 star hotels with breakfast, and guided hikes.
  • A guided walk through the UNESCO Skocjan Caves followed by truffle hunting.
  • Exploring ancient hill towns and bohemian coastal fishing villages with fabulous food.
  • A guided walking tour, an optional bike ride, or a walk on the Adriatic coast.
  • Exploring Plitvice National Waterfall & Lakes National Park through the back entrance.
  • Exploring the fascinating old town of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, and its castle.
  • Hiking in the spectacular Julian Alps, followed by an afternoon/evening at Lake Bled.
  • Another hike in a gorge followed by a bike/walk or a canoe excursion at Lake Bohinj.
  • Up Vogel mountain by cable car for fantastic views over the Julian Alps and a hike.
  • Staying at a seventh-generation organic winery while enjoying the sunset by the pool.
  • Led by one of our expert guides.
  • Not Included: Lunches, dinners, alcohol, hotel extras, and transport to & from Trieste.

Suggested Itinerary:

Day 1:
Depart Triste and explore the Skocjan caves, followed by truffle hunting. We'll spend the night in a 3,000 year old hill town (Arrive in Triste the day before.)
Day 2:
Onto a fascinating fishing village. Explore/shop/swim/relax/and a sunset cruise.
Day 3: Morning guided walking tour, afternoon hike along the Adriatic coast
Day 4: Walking tour of Pula and its Roman Arena and onto Plitvice National Park to hike
Day 5:
Walk the upper falls of Plitvice National Park and head to Ljubljana to explore.
Day 6:
Hike in the Julian Alps, then spend the afternoon at Lake Bled, where you'll have time to walk around the beautiful lake and take a boat out to a chapel on the island.
Day 7:
Hike a gorge and explore Lake Bohinj, where you can bike, hike, or swim.
Day 8:
Hike Tolmin Gorge, explore the Brda wine area, and stay at an organic winery.
Day 9:
​Departure after breakfast and drop off in Trieste
